Caterpillar CT660 Vocational Truck

Tractors & Engines | Jun 8, 2012 | Available at Kramer Cat

Overview

Designed with serviceability and performance in mind, Cat’s first vocational truck is almost completely customizable to the customer’s needs. Derived from a 30-tonne articulating rock truck, it is intended for a vast variety of uses. This robust truck is built to last. Engines are available in 11-, 13- and 15-metre platforms from 330 to 550 horse power and is exclusive with the Cat CX31 Automatic Transmission, but also available in manual options.

Wheel basin and axle configurations are almost unlimited, and mirror options provide excellent visibility on the road and around the work place. The aluminum allow cab reduces overall truck weight, maximizing payload potential and the aerodynamic sloped hood increases visibility and decreases wind drag for better fuel efficiency.

Design allows for easy replacement if damaged, with no unnecessary hassle. Piano-style door hinges reduce wind noise and seal out dust, and head lights come with impact resistant covers to protect against road debris.

The interior also comes with many perks, such as easy to read gauges and an easily removable gauge panel for any repairs. The wide cab design optimizes comfort and storage with easy-to-reach compartments and back-panel storage. The driver’s seat is designed with comfort in mind with air suspension and adjustable lumbar support. Additional head and neck support is also available with a high seat back option. All these design details are meant to help drivers to feel less fatigued and more alert while driving.
